On behalf of our client, a company that provide services in Accounting & Bookkeeping, Banking, and Compliance, we are looking for an Accountant to be based in their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains and updates financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Performs regular reconciliations of bank statements, debtor accounts, creditor accounts, and internal financial records to ensure consistency and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly Profit and Loss statements, offering detailed insights into financial performance.
- Ensures full compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and financial best practices, and support external auditors during audit preparation.
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional departments, including operations and compliance, to streamline financial processes and ensures accurate reporting.
- Prepares and submits VAT/VIES returns, as well as other required declarations to the Tax Department.
- Keeps up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Continuously identifies and implements improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Performs additional accounting-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and/or LCCI Higher Certificate in Accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of client-focused accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards.
- Familiarity with Intelisoft accounting software is a distinct advantage.
- Strong understanding and practical experience in the application of VAT and Tax Law.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and derive actionable insights.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English, enabling effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality regarding financial information.
