AML & Compliance Officer

On behalf of our client, a company offering banking, legal counsel, and dealing support, we are looking for an AML & Compliance Officer  to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors the day-to-day company’s client transactional activities.
  • Assesses, identifies, and reports any suspicious or fraudulent transactions or activities.
  • Assists in the collection, reviews, and assesses the onboarding and due diligence documents.
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures relating to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist finance.
  • Assists in the preparation and drafting of periodic and ad-hoc AML compliance reporting obligations.
  • Assesses, identifies, and advises on the corrective measures for the organization of any possible money-laundering risks and regulatory updates.
  • Assist in the preparation of AML questionnaires and forms as may be required for onboarding purposes in the course of banking applications or otherwise.
  • Participates in the liaison with third-party service providers for the integration and implementation of AML software and systems for the company’s clients.
  • Deals with clients for the collection of all required KYC and due diligence documentation to ensure all internal records remain up-to-date.
  • Collaborates with auditors, regulators, or any third parties as may be required to minimize money-laundering risks to the business.
  • Takes part in and leads anti-money laundering compliance training on identifying suspicious activity for other team members.

Job Requirements

  • BSc/BA and/or MSc in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years in an AML regulatory officer role is preferred.
  • AML Certificate preferred (issued under CySEC or another EEA regulatory body).
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards is highly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of international AML regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English (Additional languages will be advantageous).
  • A great analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
