Bars Manager

On behalf of our client, a luxurious Hotel and Spa, we are looking for a Bars Manager to be based at their premises in Paphos, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implements agreed upon beverage policy and procedures throughout the property.
  • Manages in compliance with all local beverage and liquor laws.
  • Sets personal goals that are in the framework of achieving the company’s financial and quality targets.
  • Ensures following of standard recipes and standards of drinks and services offered.
  • Understands beverage control including inventory, bar pars, portion control, costs controls, beverage potentials, mix of sales analysis for beverage, issue & returns and food standards.
  • Comprehends budgets, operating statements, payroll progress reports and other expenses (i.e., laundry, beverage costs) to achieve and exceed budgeted goals.  
  • Maintains food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Acts as a Duty Manager of the hotel and follows the company’s procedure related to the Duty Manager’s tasks and responsibilities.
  • Brings innovation by submitting new creative ideas and by implementing new techniques, drinks and methods.
  • Liaise with the suppliers in order to be updated with all market trends, prices and availability.
  • Delegates various activities to other Supervisors and team members to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Identify team members with future potential and suggest any promotions/advancements/salary increases to the Hotel General Manager always in with his/her parameters of the budget.
  • Handles complaints/guest comments and ensures guest satisfaction by resolving issues and following up and whenever necessary involves Supervisors in the process.

Job Requirements

  • Certificate from a High School or Technical School (Preferably graduate of a Hospitality School)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Supervisory role in a Bars Operation of a 4- or 5-star hotel
  • Fluency in English 
  • Character distinguished by courtesy and positive attitude towards customer service
  • Good communication and organizational skills
