Uniteam Marine is an international ship management organization that provides industry-leading services to ship owners and ship managers across a wide range of countries and jurisdictions.
With immediate effect, we are looking for a Business Development Director to be based in Athens, Greece.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Continually monitors the Company’s business development strategies, objectives, targets, and measurable KPIs.
- Gives input to the annual Business Development Plan in close cooperation with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
- Develop business opportunities via well-established contacts in the shipping market
- Identifies opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements
- Tracks individual competitor companies and their developments as well as gather market intelligence
- Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting potential clients as well as exploring opportunities
- Gathers marketing intelligence to be used for the preparation of service offers
- Coordinates management offers/tenders for prospective clients in close cooperation with the CCO and MD and presents them if necessary, during client visits
- Monitors and follows up on offers/tenders provided to clients
- Attends conferences and exhibitions for networking possibilities
- Fosters and maintains close relationships with existing clients through periodical visits and as may be instructed by the Management
- Ensures that the MD and CCO are fully informed on all business development activities
- Responds to customer requests/inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintains accurate records of data related to customers and prospects
- Ensures the timely and proper handling of customer complaints.
- Exhibits a creative, proactive, and innovative approach to new business opportunities
- Performs any other business development project assigned to him/her.
Qualifications
- University Degree in relevant commercial or business subject.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial role in a B2B environment, preferably Marine or Oil and Gas
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and communications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
