Commercial Manager (Port & Marina)

On behalf of our Client, we are looking for a Commercial Manager (Port & Marina) to be based at their offices in Larnaca, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains an overall perspective of the company’s business strategy/portfolio, identifying opportunities for optimization to ensure sustainable business practices and growth 
  • Identifies new business opportunities, assesses levels of interest, qualifies budgets and converts prospective leads into successful accounts 
  • Conducts regular market research to benchmark product offerings and pricing 
  • Prepares appropriate feasibility analysis for each opportunity and prepares reports for consideration 
  • Secures new business as well as maintains and grows current accounts 
  • Follows up with potential business clients 
  • Keeps an ear to the ground and acquires information about potential business 
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with existing and potential customers and suppliers 
  • Networks within existing customer base to grow opportunities 
  • Attends relevant functions and networks with key stakeholder groups as appropriate 

Main Requirements

  • University degree in Business Management or relevant field
  • Proven experience in a Business Development and/or Sales/Marketing role within the Shipping-Maritime industry
  • Ability to develop new business, including proven success in negotiation and sales
  • Experience in Shipping, Marine Logistics, International Sales and all elements of Commercial plans
  • Experience in roles interacting with the public and a broad range of stakeholders to achieve collaborative outcomes 
  • Excellent knowledge of  English and Greek language
  • Computer literate (MS Office application)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong entrepreneurial presence, business acumen and customer service orientation
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Professionalism, integrity, strong work ethic and trustworthiness
