With immediate effect, we are looking for a Crew Payroll Accountant to be based at our office in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with the vision and goals of the Finance Service Line and of the Crew Payroll Competency
- Applies the Group’s internal controls, systems and processes in an effective and efficient manner.
- Utilizes effectively the available technology and tools for the performance of activities
- Follows and complies with the competency’s procedures to safeguard the confidentiality of information included within the working papers and crew payroll records
- Ensures compliance with the Company’s risk management procedure and proactively contributes to its continuous improvement
- Cooperates with the Fleet Personnel Function to ensure the appropriate updating of the Compass system for information required for crew payroll purposes
- Prepares the monthly payroll reports and performs required reconciliation exercises as per Competency’s procedures
- Prepares and/or distributes monthly pay slips as per the Competency’s procedures
- Performs the calculation of home allotments and final wages in accordance with the crew members’ employment agreement/contract and relevant legislations
- Ensures that monthly home allotments and final wages accounts payments are properly and timely carried out in cooperation with the Treasury Competency
- Follows-up information to be obtained from Masters in order to prepare the crew payroll (e.g. Home allotments, war risk bonus, deductions)
- Responds on a timely basis to the crew members’ queries and complaints in relation to payroll
- Submits the relevant statements (e.g. social insurance contributions) to the tax authorities within the set deadlines
- Enters crew payroll information in the accounting system on a timely basis in collaboration with the General Accounting and Reporting Competency
- Provides crew payroll related information to clients in cooperation with the Crew Payroll Competency Head
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (major in accounting) or LCCI Higher or CAT or AAT
- No prior experience necessary but will be considered an advantage
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and communication (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting package will be considered an advantage
