On behalf of our client, a leading broker, we are looking for a Head of Compliance to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive compliance program that ensures adherence to CySEC regulations, as well as all relevant laws and industry standards across the European region.
- Oversees the implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and controls, and ensures their consistent application across all European operations.
- Conducts regular risk assessments and develops mitigation strategies to address identified compliance risks.
- Stays up to date with regulatory developments and advises business stakeholders on the changes required to ensure continued compliance.
- Conducts periodic compliance audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of the company’s compliance program and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigates and resolves compliance-related issues, complaints, or incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborates closely with the marketing team to ensure that all digital marketing and online advertising activities comply with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
- Reviews and approves marketing materials, websites, social media content, and promotional campaigns for regulatory compliance and accuracy.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and maintains effective communication channels with CySEC and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Prepares and submits comprehensive compliance reports, notifications, and filings as required by regulatory authorities.
- Develops and delivers comprehensive compliance training programs for employees across the European region, focusing on regulatory requirements, ethical practices, and the company’s compliance policies and procedures.
- Fosters a strong culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization by promoting awareness and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional compliance certification is preferred.
- Holder of CySEC Advanced and AML Certificates.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a senior or leadership role in compliance within the financial services or investment industry, with a focus on European regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of CySEC regulations, as well as other relevant laws and regulations about online trading, CFDs, and FX products across the European region.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing practices, including performance marketing and social media advertising.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee and direct a team of compliance professionals.
- Proficiency in relevant compliance software and tools.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage.
