HR Business Partner

On behalf of our Client, a company that provides a full range of ship management and marine support services to ship owners and operators around the globe, we are looking for an HR Business Partner to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the HR team or shared resources to provide comprehensive HR support for the line managers and employees
  • Supports Regional HRM or relevant HR Head in identifying, planning, and implementing relevant HR initiatives to enable the achievement of business goals or remediation of business issues
  • Guarantees accurate personnel records are maintained using the HR Management Information System, taking account of the country’s specific Data Protection legislation
  • Develops knowledge of the generic Group HR Procedures and local Employee Handbook and ensures consistent application and adherence by line managers and employees
  • Plans, organizes and implements activities to support recruitment, in conjunction with line managers
  • Responsible for the induction process for new entrants, including assistance with activities related to the relocation of employees from other regions or states
  • Coordinates and participates in training & development events
  • Leads the annual performance review, salary review and bonus scheme activities to ensure the completion within the published deadlines.
  • Supports the line managers in planning and achievement of deadlines
  • Prepares and maintains relevant HR documentation required to demonstrate that the local office complies with the Group’s policies and the country’s specific employment legislation
  • Assists the line managers in the performance of all HR policies and procedures ensuring compliance with the HR Procedures Manual
  • Develops awareness and ensures the Quality Management System, Health & Safety and Environmental policies, the country’s legislation, and the company’s general ‘duty of care’ to all employees are reflected in HR activities   
  • Gathers relevant local market data on salaries and benefits across sectors and provides quarterly updates to the line managers. Highlights areas for development or review on an ongoing basis
  • Acts as the point of liaison between the local office and the Central HR function, providing HR information to, and disseminating information from, the Group
  • Becomes a respected source of impartial advice and guidance for staff and managers on all HR-related matters, by actively pursuing opportunities to develop professional knowledge and skills

Job Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3+ years of HR Generalist experience with knowledge of local HR regulatory requirements
  • Excellent command of English and Greek language
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits and organizational development
  • Ability to engage at all levels of the organization and strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
