Nursery Teacher English Speaking

On behalf of our client, a private international school, we are looking for an enthusiastic Nursery Teacher (English Speaking) to be based at their school in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Follows all safety procedures and instructions
  • Communicates and liaises with colleagues in an effort to promote and establish integrative links and/or awareness
  • Establishes links with the parent community to ensure that parents are kept well informed about student progress
  • Set expectations for discipline and behavior, including dealing with inappropriate behavior according to the kindergarten policy
  • Creates engaging lessons to involve students of all abilities, coordinating with colleagues and assistants where needed
  • Set up the educational environment and organize equipment
  • Maintains up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports and communication with parents
  • Use a mix of resources to enhance students’ exploration of the topic 
  • Implements different teaching methods, including group work, independent research, demonstrations, experiments, and play, to motivate and encourage interaction in the group
  • Completes administrative work, e.g., writing reports, updating records, marking work
  • Acts as a resource/contact/support for new staff members (i.e., curriculum, schedules, procedures)
  • Attends and constructively contributes to staff meetings
  • Participates in and assists with kindergarten events as required

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Pre-Primary or Nursery Education 
  • KYSATS accreditation/approval
  • Being a good team player
  • Fluent English and Greek
  • Being a dynamic educator with a willingness to innovate and inspire  
  • A deep understanding of the EYFS curriculum and an ability to use initiative to plan instruction and assess learning outcomes using standards and benchmarks 
  • Strong classroom management skills, appropriate for early childhood age students
  • An ability to communicate well with all ages of kindergarten students, staff and parents
  • A proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual needs
  • A wide range of assessment tools and strategies with the ability to share their application to inquiry-based instruction
  • Excellent communication skills and patience 
  • Creative approach to daily tasks
  • Experience of working in private kindergartens is an advantage
