On behalf of our client, a leading company experienced in platform engineering, software delivery, and cloud strategy, we are looking for a Platform Engineer, to be based at their offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses the company’s knowledge and experience of delivering Platform-as-a-Service and Continuous Delivery to build and maintain platforms for their clients
- Influences client backlogs and ways of working while working as an embedded engineer in client scrum teams
- Follows an agile approach of delivering value as early as possible and then iterating
- Develops platform services and components using a variety of languages and tools
- Performs full lifecycle delivery, from requirements to production support
- Creates automated tests and documentation for everything that will be built
- Follows security best practices
- Focuses on tenant and developer experience
- Pairs with other engineers on any aspect of delivery
- Is on call to support production systems and responds to alerts during the working day
- Debugs issues
- Attends company’s and client rituals, like stand-ups, planning and retrospectives
Job Requirements:
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals
- Very good understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, e.g. Java, Go, Python
- Knowledge of Cloud architecture and experience with at least one provider
- Familiarity with the concepts of Containerization and Container Orchestration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good grasp of the trade-offs in distributed systems
- Can articulate a solution to a non-technical audience
