On behalf of our client, a fully fledged financial services firm we are looking for a Senior Accountant to be based at their offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises daily reporting and posting of journal entries in the accounting system and ensure that all records are up to date
- Supervises bank reconciliations, bookkeeping and payment requests
- Tracks and monitors accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Prepares the accounting records based on international financial reporting standards (‘’IFRS’’);
- Reviews and submits of VAT services & returns; liaise with Cyprus Tax and VAT authorities
- Maintains the fixed asset register including depreciation calculations
- Assists in the audit of the fund entities and fund Manager (CIF) according to international financial reporting standards (‘’IFRS’’) ensuring on-time tax and statutory filing;
- Prepares the interim and year-end financial accounts, periodic and regulatory reports for the fund entities and the fund manager as required by CySec, CBC and/or Companies’ Registrar
- Liaises with CySec, CBC, Custodian, brokers, banks, auditors and clients ensuring smooth business operations
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and implementing policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- University degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or a related field
- Completed or working towards an accounting qualification including the ACCA/ACA/CPA
- Minimum 3 years’ of professional accounting experience
- Previous experience in a Finance team is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills in both Greek and English
- Proficient computer literacy
