On behalf of our Client, a leading maritime satellite communications and technologies provider, we are looking for a Solutions Engineer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the architecture team to ensure that technical requirements are precisely aligned with maritime design objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Develops comprehensive design documents that detail technical specifications for maritime systems integration, guiding production and delivery.
- Ensures that all designs maintain consistency with the overarching maritime infrastructure vision, ensuring compatibility across various systems.
- Assesses the implementation feasibility of new technologies within the maritime context, addressing challenges specific to maritime environments.
- Acts as a bridge between engineering and architecture teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of maritime needs.
- Selects appropriate technology stacks and tools that best fit the maritime industry’s unique design and operational requirements.
- Optimizes system performance to meet the rigorous demands of maritime operations.
- Implements robust security measures tailored to the specific threats and requirements of maritime operations.
- Ensures seamless integration of systems within the maritime infrastructure to support comprehensive, unified operations.
- Creates and maintains clear documentation that explains the design rationale, tailored for maritime stakeholders, including engineering and support teams.
- Trains support teams on the architecture, configuration, and operation of maritime-specific solutions.
- Identifies potential risks in system designs and proposes mitigation strategies relevant to the maritime context.
- Designs systems that support scalability, addressing the future growth and expansion needs of maritime operations.
- Engages actively with the architecture team to refine and enhance maritime design processes based on ongoing feedback.
- Develops and tests prototypes to ensure the viability of integrated solutions within the maritime technology stack.
- Aids in the configuration, troubleshooting, and testing of maritime systems, ensuring smooth deployment and operational continuity.
- Coordinates with quality assurance teams to align testing efforts with the detailed maritime design, ensuring thorough validation processes.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in information technology systems engineering or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience in systems engineering with a focus on systems integration.
- In-depth knowledge of networking and infrastructure (fortinet products preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of Debian Linux (iptables, bash scripting, network interfaces, VLAN, KVM) and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting (Python preferred).
- Proficiency in technology and tools relevant to maritime operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven track record of developing practical and effective solutions.
- Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to create detailed specifications and design documents.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating between technical teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to train and support teams in complex operational contexts.
