Uniteam Marine is an international ship management organization that provides industry-leading services to ship owners and ship managers across a wide range of countries and jurisdictions.
With immediate effect, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to be based in Asia.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Promotes and supports the mission and vision of Uniteam Marine.
- Continually monitors Uniteam’s Marine business development strategies, objectives, targets, and measurable KPIs.
- Gives input to the annual Business Development Plan in close cooperation with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
- Develops business opportunities via well-established contacts in the shipping market.
- Identifies opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
- Tracks individual competitor companies and their developments as well as gathers market intelligence.
- Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting potential clients as well as exploring opportunities.
- Gathers marketing intelligence to be used for the preparation of service offers.
- Coordinates management offers/tenders for prospective clients in close cooperation with the CCO and Managing Director and presents them if necessary during client visits.
- Monitors and follows up on offers/tenders provided to clients.
- Attends conferences and exhibitions for networking possibilities.
- Fosters and maintains close relationships with existing clients through periodical visits and as may be instructed by the Management.
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Ensures that the Managing Director and CCO are fully informed on all business development activities.
- Responds to customer requests/inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensures the timely and proper handling of customer complaints.
- Maintains accurate records of data related to customers and prospects.
- Is fully aware of UM’s latest service offerings and keenly aware of UM’s strengths and unique selling points.
- Exhibits a creative, proactive, and an innovative approach to new business opportunities.
- Performs any other business development project assigned to him/her.
Qualifications
- University Degree in relevant commercial or business subject.
- 5 years experience in a commercial role in a B2B environment, preferably marine or oil & gas.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and communication (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
