Civil Engineer

On behalf of our client, an energy systems provider, we are looking for a Civil Engineer, to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts market research to identify trends and opportunities for Renewable Energy Projects (REPs)
  • Communicates with clients to identify their needs and promote renewable energy services
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with potential clients
  • Evaluates renewable energy projects considering technical, economic, and environmental factors
  • Drafts proposals for Renewable Energy Projects
  • Designs and performs energy analyses for renewable energy projects
  • Plans and organizes project development, including preparation of budgets, schedules, and engineering design
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory rules and policies related to renewable energy
  • Performs financial analyses (cost-benefit analyses), assesses economic feasibility of projects, forecasts revenues, and evaluates return on investment (ROI)
  • Analyzes regulatory and policy frameworks related to renewable energy
  • Monitors the progress and performance of projects, resolves issues, and makes decisions to ensure smooth project implementation
  • Prepares and submits progress reports and updates to key stakeholders and management
  • Manages the permitting process, collaborates with relevant authorities to obtain necessary approvals and licenses, and communicates with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Builds and maintains relationships with landowners, government agencies, and local communities to ensure project support and land access
  • Oversees the implementation of renewable energy projects, ensuring adherence to predefined timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Manages the permitting process for renewable energy projects with all involved stakeholders
  • Guides the project development team for the successful execution of Renewable Energy Projects

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered member of ETEK (ideally in the field of hydraulics) with signing authority for renewable energy project studies
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design software
  • Experience in project management with a focus on renewable energy projects
  • Experience in earthworks planning
  • Experience in designing photovoltaic parks
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to renewable energy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events
  • Experience in preparing Environmental Impact Assessments will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of PVSyst software will be considered an asset
