On behalf of our client, a leading firm of accountants and management consultants, we are looking for a Compliance Officer to be based in their offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that all operations and activities of the Company are in compliance with laws and regulations and all pertinent directives of regulatory bodies that relate to ML & TF
- Reviews, appraises, reports and monitors relevant actions on compliance issues
- Designs the internal practices/ measures/ procedures/ controls relevant to the prevention of ML & TF, in accordance BoD regulations
- Monitors and assesses the implementation of the policy and AML procedures
- Applies appropriate monitoring mechanisms, identifies shortcomings and/or weaknesses in the application of the set practices and gives appropriate guidance for corrective measures
- Examines the information received and completes reports to MOKAS/ICPAC as and when deemed appropriate
- Prepares the Monthly/ Annual Reports and submits to the BoD for approval
- Reviews all KYC documents and evaluates business activities to assess compliance risk and advise on the level of Risk
- Ensures periodic review (High risk: every year, Medium: every 2 years, Low every 3 year) of the clients’ files and ensures due diligence in accordance with the regulations and the organizations’ policies
- Supports all departments and the relevant authorities on compliance and other related matters as needed
Job Requirements
- University Degree in Law/Business or other related field
- AML certification
- At least 3 years of experience
- Excellent command of Greek and English (both verbal and written)
- Computer literate/Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent knowledge and application of Company Law, AML legislation and its application in KYC reviews and transactions reviews
- Working knowledge of the new GDPR policy and any other related current and new legislations
- Excellent communication and team work skills
