Head of Legal

On behalf of our client, a leading forex company, we are looking for a Head of Legal to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Drafts or improves agreements, contracts, and other legal documents and ensures they are aligned with the relevant legislation.
Provides expert and professional legal advice, guidance, and support to ensure that the legal and reputational risks faced are identified, reported, and mitigated.
Consults and handles all corporate legal processes.
Conducts legal research on various matters and proactively identifies legal risks.
Advises the company on potential legal risks.
Reviews any new applicable laws and regulations and advises how they are affecting the company’s operations.
Responsible for the implementation of the internal regulations and procedures of the company.
Provides asvise on employment, labor law, and other legal matters involving head offices as well as global offices.
Provides guidance and training to staff and management on legal and other related matters.
Assists with general and varied queries affecting the business.
Conducts periodic audits on matters relating to regulatory and employment frameworks.
Carries out any further duties assigned by their line manager.
Reports on department activities and performance to the operations manager.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Law.
3+ years of experience in a managerial role within the industry.
CySEC Advanced certification and CySEC AML certification will be considered an advantage.
Excellent spoken and written Greek or English communication skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to use independent judgement.
Detailed knowledge of laws and regulations affecting business operations.
Ability to interpret and advice on the application of various laws.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality assurance.
