On behalf of our client, a leading forex company, we are looking for a Head of Legal to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafts or improves agreements, contracts, and other legal documents and ensures they are aligned with the relevant legislation.
- Provides expert and professional legal advice, guidance, and support to ensure that the legal and reputational risks faced are identified, reported, and mitigated.
- Consults and handles all corporate legal processes.
- Conducts legal research on various matters and proactively identifies legal risks.
- Advises the company on potential legal risks.
- Reviews any new applicable laws and regulations and advises how they are affecting the company’s operations.
- Responsible for the implementation of the internal regulations and procedures of the company.
- Provides asvise on employment, labor law, and other legal matters involving head offices as well as global offices.
- Provides guidance and training to staff and management on legal and other related matters.
- Assists with general and varied queries affecting the business.
- Conducts periodic audits on matters relating to regulatory and employment frameworks.
- Carries out any further duties assigned by their line manager.
- Reports on department activities and performance to the operations manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- 3+ years of experience in a managerial role within the industry.
- CySEC Advanced certification and CySEC AML certification will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent spoken and written Greek or English communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to use independent judgement.
- Detailed knowledge of laws and regulations affecting business operations.
- Ability to interpret and advice on the application of various laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality assurance.
