Head of Legal

On behalf of our client, a leading forex company, we are looking for a Head of Legal to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drafts or improves agreements, contracts, and other legal documents and ensures they are aligned with the relevant legislation.
  • Provides expert and professional legal advice, guidance, and support to ensure that the legal and reputational risks faced are identified, reported, and mitigated.
  • Consults and handles all corporate legal processes.
  • Conducts legal research on various matters and proactively identifies legal risks.
  • Advises the company on potential legal risks.
  • Reviews any new applicable laws and regulations and advises how they are affecting the company’s operations.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the internal regulations and procedures of the company.
  • Provides asvise on employment, labor law, and other legal matters involving head offices as well as global offices.
  • Provides guidance and training to staff and management on legal and other related matters.
  • Assists with general and varied queries affecting the business.
  • Conducts periodic audits on matters relating to regulatory and employment frameworks.
  • Carries out any further duties assigned by their line manager.
  • Reports on department activities and performance to the operations manager.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial role within the industry.
  • CySEC Advanced certification and CySEC AML certification will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent spoken and written Greek or English communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to use independent judgement.
  • Detailed knowledge of laws and regulations affecting business operations.
  • Ability to interpret and advice on the application of various laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality assurance.
