Purchasing Officer

On behalf of our client, a multidiscipline marine service provider, we are looking for a Purchasing Officer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arranges the timely and cost-effective delivery of stores and spares
  • Arranges the dispatch of supplies to vessels
  • Ensures that goods are delivered on board
  • Checks outstanding orders and enquiry files on a regular basis
  • Handles and coordinates special purchases
  • Monitors the performance of the company’s regular suppliers
  • Handles monthly accruals
  • Provides temporary cover for Purchasing Officer(s) within the same fleet in case of absence
  • Attends Technical or Purchasing Department meetings

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Shipping or Maritime or related disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar roles
  • Experience in ship management or ship owning companies is a must
  • Ability to work independently and under own initiative or actively contribute as an effective member of a team
  • Excellent command of English and Greek language
  • Excellent command of MS Office suite
  • Organizational skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic Knowledge of procurement procedures and purchasing standards
