On behalf of our client, a multidiscipline marine service provider, we are looking for a Purchasing Officer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Arranges the timely and cost-effective delivery of stores and spares
- Arranges the dispatch of supplies to vessels
- Ensures that goods are delivered on board
- Checks outstanding orders and enquiry files on a regular basis
- Handles and coordinates special purchases
- Monitors the performance of the company’s regular suppliers
- Handles monthly accruals
- Provides temporary cover for Purchasing Officer(s) within the same fleet in case of absence
- Attends Technical or Purchasing Department meetings
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Shipping or Maritime or related disciplines
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar roles
- Experience in ship management or ship owning companies is a must
- Ability to work independently and under own initiative or actively contribute as an effective member of a team
- Excellent command of English and Greek language
- Excellent command of MS Office suite
- Organizational skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic Knowledge of procurement procedures and purchasing standards
