Uniteam Marine is an international ship management organization that provides industry-leading services to ship owners and ship managers across a wide range of countries and jurisdictions.
With immediate effect, we are looking for a Trainee Crewing Operator to be based at our office in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates in accordance with the Uniteam Group of Companies’ Code of Conduct and actively observes company values and expected behaviors
- Supports the implementation of Fleet Personnel Function policies and procedures under supervision
- Assists in following the Group’s risk management framework and begins to understand its relevance to daily tasks
- Develops awareness of key maritime legislation (e.g., STCW, MLC) and international regulations impacting crew management activities
- Assists in routine crewing operations for assigned vessels, including data entry and coordination support, while escalating key issues to the Crewing Operator or Crewing Manager
- Update crew information in the Uniteam Marine and client crewing systems under supervision
- Supports the execution of crew changes, learning to ensure cost-effective and compliant procedures. Tasks may include:
- Assisting in the communication of crew change information to vessels, agents, manning offices, and other stakeholders
- Verifying and filing seafarers’ statutory and flag state documents with supervision
- Assisting in organising crew briefings at Uniteam Marine premises or Client offices
- Preparing flight booking requests in the crewing system and following up as needed
- Entering and updating travel and crew movement data in the Crewing system
- Drafting standard messages to agents and vessels related to crew movements
- Responsible for vessel documentation records in Crewing System
- Supports communication with the Flag Administration and Travel teams
- Learns to maintain and update seafarer records, including electronic filing of documentation in coordination with manning agents
- Assists in preparing and dispatching correspondence and documentation to designated fleets or Group offices
- Observes the process for checking and preparing documentation related to crewing disbursements.
- Supports the creation of medical event records in the Crewing system and observes coordination of medical arrangements and communication with stakeholders
- Gains exposure to coordination of P&I-related cases with the Insurance team
- Supports arrangements for crew travel related to training or conferences, under guidance
- Undertakes any additional tasks or learning assignments as directed by the Fleet Personnel Director, Crewing Manager or Senior Crewing Operator
Job Requirements:
- Studies in Maritime related degree
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, communication (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
