Vessel Accountant

On behalf of our client, a multidiscipline marine service provider, we are looking for a Vessel Accountant to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and maintains accurate financial records for assigned vessels, monitors operating costs against approved budgets, and tracks accruals, prepayments, and outstanding liabilities
  • Manages vessel cash flow by forecasting, monitoring, and ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and maritime regulations
  • Collaborates with the CFO and cross‑functional teams to prepare annual vessel budgets and cash‑flow forecasts, analyzes deviations, and reports cost overruns to management
  • Verifies and processes vessel‑related invoices
  • Ensures timely payments to suppliers, agents, and service providers
  • Reconciles vendor statements and resolves discrepancies
  • Assists with internal and external audits related to vessel accounts
  • Maintains proper documentation for audits and inspections
  • Liaises with technical and operations departments

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field 
  • 5 years of accounting experience in ship management / maritime industry 
  • Strong knowledge of vessel OPEX, maritime cost structures 
  • Fluent in English and Greek, in both verbal and written form
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 
  • Knowledge of Danaos Software or any other Shipping software will be considered an advantage
