On behalf of our client, a multidiscipline marine service provider, we are looking for a Vessel Accountant to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and maintains accurate financial records for assigned vessels, monitors operating costs against approved budgets, and tracks accruals, prepayments, and outstanding liabilities
- Manages vessel cash flow by forecasting, monitoring, and ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations
- Ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and maritime regulations
- Collaborates with the CFO and cross‑functional teams to prepare annual vessel budgets and cash‑flow forecasts, analyzes deviations, and reports cost overruns to management
- Verifies and processes vessel‑related invoices
- Ensures timely payments to suppliers, agents, and service providers
- Reconciles vendor statements and resolves discrepancies
- Assists with internal and external audits related to vessel accounts
- Maintains proper documentation for audits and inspections
- Liaises with technical and operations departments
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience in ship management / maritime industry
- Strong knowledge of vessel OPEX, maritime cost structures
- Fluent in English and Greek, in both verbal and written form
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Danaos Software or any other Shipping software will be considered an advantage
