Accountant (Trade & Receivables)

With immediate effect, we are looking for an Accountant (Trade & Receivables) to be based at our office in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and sends timely basis invoices to clients based on contracts/agreements, approved pricelists, authorized deductions (e.g. discounts), and applicable VAT rates
  • Follows VAT rate amendments based on official rulings and agreements 
  • Responsible for updating debtors’ accounts with new invoices
  • Issues credit notes as per the competency’s procedures and authorization levels
  • Prepares debtor aging analysis and debtor statements
  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit line and communicates with the Treasury competency to ensure collection in line with each Business Units’ credit policy
  • Sends reminders and communicates directly with clients via phone, email, fax, or mail
  • Monitors the payments received from clients in cooperation with the Treasury competency
  • Updates debtors’ accounts with received payments
  • Communicates with clients and responds to their queries with regard to invoicing and receivables
  • Performs reconciliation exercises on the debtor account statements and the debtors’ control account 
  • Assists in month-end financial statement closure 
  • Arranges Cash to the vessels (CTM) to the most convenient and economical port 

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • LCCI Higher or CAT or AAT or a completed commercial apprenticeship
  • No prior experience is necessary but will be considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting package will be considered an advantage
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and communication (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent Communication and Teamwork skills
  • Able to demonstrate integrity and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Organizational and Numerical skills
