NOC Support Officer

On behalf of our client, a leading telecoms solutions provider we are looking for an NOC Support Officer to be based at their offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitors international voice, SMS, VSAT, TDM, and VoIP links to maintain network availability and performance
  • Responds to network incidents, alarms, and outages following established procedures and protocols
  • Logs and tracks network incidents and service requests using a ticketing system
  • Ensures timely responses, documents resolution steps, and escalates issues as needed
  • Takes proactive measures to address network anomalies and performance issues
  • Implements preventive actions to reduce incidents and enhance network reliability
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports
  • Updates network diagrams and documentation to reflect changes and improvements
  • Uses knowledge in networking, VoIP, and SMS to enhance network service monitoring and management
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes network issues, taking traces for SIP, SS7, and SMS flows
  • Analyzes network traffic patterns, volume, and quality to ensure optimal service delivery
  • Proactively detects and investigates irregularities or anomalies in voice and SMS traffic
  • Monitors the status and performance of network equipment and assets, ensuring optimal functionality
  • Oversees interconnections with customers for efficient voice and SMS traffic exchange
  • Works in a 24/7 environment with a flexible schedule
  • Collaborates effectively with team members, working under pressure to resolve network incidents and deliver continuous service

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field will be considered a plus
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols
  • Fluent in English, in both verbal and written form
  • Knowledge of VoIP and SMS technologies
  • Capable of working in a 24/7 environment with a flexible schedule
  • Experience with ticketing systems for incident tracking and management will be considered a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot network issues and analyze traces
  • Excellent documentation skills to maintain records of incidents and processes
  • Effective communication for incident reporting, coordination with team members, and providing updates
  •  Willingness to take proactive steps to improve network performance and reliability
  • Relevant certifications, such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP will be considered a plus
