Uniteam Marine is an international ship management organization that provides industry-leading services to ship owners and ship managers across a wide range of countries and jurisdictions.
With immediate effect we are looking for an Accountant to be based at our office in Hamburg, Germany.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for posting of Vendor invoices in accordance with the company requirements.
- Ensures that all incoming invoices are posted to the appropriate accounts.
- Responsible for posting of Accruals / Provisions
- Ensures compliance with local regulations and requirements.
- Monitors the Vendor Accounts.
- Responsible for managing and posting credit card statements.
- Responsible for bank posting, cash boxes and necessary payments (pre-payments etc.).
- Reconciles the Vendor Accounts and General Ledger Accounts.
- Discusses with the Superior about new accounts in the Chart of Accounts that need to be opened and proceeds to open them.
- Investigates any discrepancies in the general ledger / accounting entries as indicated by the Superior.
- Investigates any differences in the suspense account which may arise.
- Assists the external auditors in the performance of the annual audit.
- Assists the Superior in preparation of monthly reporting.
Job Requirements
- Professional experience in Accounting / Financial Accounting
- Good command of spoken and written English / German.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, communication (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting package will be considered an advantage.
