Marine Service Engineer

On behalf of Azimuth Radio Technologies, we are looking for a Marine Service Engineer to be based at our office in Hamburg, Germany 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represents Azimuth Radio Technologies in the best possible way regarding performance, attitude, safety, quality, and customer service
  • Ensures execution of all service jobs assigned
  • Communicates with Company clients, agents, vessels, and makers to ensure service attendance and success of jobs
  • Coordinates and assigns physical or remote service engineers to clients confirmed requested services
  • Prepares jobs in terms of attendance, spare parts, and logistics required for a successful job
  • Ensures all necessary documentation is rendered and supported including materials to the highest standard
  • Ensures completion of all service reports required for each job
  • Obtains further technical advice, if required even if necessary, to reach out to Makers.
  • Identifies and assists in training to enhance competency
  • Recommends and creates opportunities to learn new skills, both technical and soft for self and team members
  • Adheres to policies, regulations, and standards relating to the Company’s principles of best business practice
  • Analyses concerns of customers and proposes solutions
  • Attends team meetings
  • Maintains tools and machinery used for the execution of jobs in a safe and proper manner
  • Supports colleagues to generate more leads resulting in increased revenue for the company
  • Ensures updated technical bulletins, service/installation manuals, and important technical information are available 
  • Identifies spares /accessories availability, and forecast requirements to reduce the probability of losing revenue and ensure a first-time fix success
  • Ensures compliance with export requirements
  • Performs surveys, repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections of ship radio communications and bridge navigational equipment and installations, always based on holding relevant qualifications, accreditations, and / or experience

Job Requirements 

  • University degree in Marine Engineering or other equivalent studies
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Seagoing would be considered an advantage
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and communication (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
