Senior Database Developer

On behalf of our client, a leading forex company, we are looking for a Senior Database Developer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs and creates database structures that meet the requirements of the application or system.
  • Defines data models, relationships, and constraints to ensure data integrity.
  • Optimizes database design for performance and scalability.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains database solutions.
  • Writes and optimizes SQL queries to retrieve, update, and manipulate data.
  • Implements stored procedures, triggers, and functions for data processing.
  • Plans and executes data migration projects when transitioning from one system to another.
  • Ensures data accuracy and consistency during the migration process.
  • Identifies and addresses issues related to query performance, indexing, and overall database optimization.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and business analysts, to support database-related initiatives and projects.
  • Develops and maintains documentation, including database schemas, configurations, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in database management and apply them to enhance our database systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working as a Senior Database Developer in the financial services industry.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and schema optimization techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot database-related issues independently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
