On behalf of our client, a retail broker on a mission to deliver a streamlined trading experience, we are looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops scalable, efficient, and robust Node.js applications for backend services
- Collaborates with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions
- Optimizes application performance and ensures high availability and reliability
- Writes well-structured, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards
- Participates in code reviews to maintain code quality and provide constructive feedback
- Identifies and troubleshoot software defects and issues, implementing timely solutions
- Mentors junior developers and contribute to their growth by sharing knowledge and best practices
- Participate in the architecture and design discussions to shape the future of our backend systems
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience as a Node.js developer with a track record of delivering successful backend projects
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript, along with a good understanding of server-side templating languages
- Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and microservices
- Proficient in database technologies like MongoDB, MySQL, or similar.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker) is considered a plus
