Crew Accountant
Crew Accountant
On behalf of our Client, a leading shipowner, and ship management company, we are looking for a Crew Accountant for their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains proper monthly accounting records in accounting software for vessels assigned
- Prepares and follows up monthly Vessel’s reconciliations
- Issues and posts of crew lumpsum invoices, adjustments and recoverable costs
- Posts of end of month documents (i.e. payrolls, vessels cash accounts)
- Codes and posts of invoices from manning agents and third-party clients
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements
- Prepares and releases crew home allotments and other crewing payments
- Communication with the vessels, manning agents and other external parties as may be required
- Prepares accounting related reports as required by the superior
- Keeps the superior informed of any important issues that will need the head involvement and costs overruns
Job Requirements
- Relevant experience in a similar position is required
- Holder of an accounting related certificate
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, communication (MS Office)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and high sense of responsibility

Main Duties and Requirements
- Maintains and updates accounting records via accounting software SAP
- Prepares and maintains ad-hoc reports and contributes to budgets’ preparation
- Manages VAT & VIES registration and submission, filling and all related tasks
- Liaises with banks and be responsible for bank related matters
- Manages Reconciliations (Cash, Banks, Receivables, Payables, Taxes)

Main Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or other related field
- Holder of LCCI Higher or GCE A’ Level
- Previous work experience in a similar position if any
- IT Literate and advance knowledge of excel.
- Previous experience and knowledge with SAP accounting software will be considered an advantage
- In process for obtaining AAT/ CAT /ACCA, will be considered as an advantage
- Good understanding and previous experience with Tax and VAT matters.

- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
