On behalf of our client, a leading forex company, we are looking for a Database Administrator to to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages AWS cloud databases: daily support, performance improvements, backups, and replication.
- Handles the migration of large data sets between databases from one premise to cloud solutions.
- Designs, implements, and maintains database systems to support business operations.
- Monitors database performance and optimizes query performance for efficiency.
- Implements and maintains database security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
- Conducts regular backups, replications, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborates with software developers and system administrators to troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Evaluates and recommends database technologies and tools to enhance system performance.
- Assists in database capacity planning and scalability efforts to support business growth.
- Document database processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
- Provides technical support and guidance to users on database-related matters.
- Stays informed about industry trends and best practices in database management and fintech.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role in the financial services sector.
- Experience with AWS will be considered an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in database management systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database backup, replication, and recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in relevant database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
